Twenty years coaching professional singers, in the room, one at a time. The problem is almost never the technique itself — it's the psychological barriers that manifest into physical blocks that affect the voice.
You sing. I get the honor of hearing you perform, then together we evaluate your voice and build upon your unique sound. No two voices get the same lesson, because no two voices are alike.
Breathing properly builds the muscles you sing with, and it brings an overall calm that allows you to let go and trust your voice. A “well fed” and supported nervous system lets you sing as your genuine self, free from all the self critique and fear.
We will guide your voice through various vocalization exercises and choose the right ones, together, to help build and support your own unique sound and style. A personal vocal warm up to work along with while you are on your own can also be designed for you.
A warm up requires a minimum of three 45–minute sessions.
“Mark Renk is the only vocal coach I’ve used for the past 20 years.”
“For the past 2,000–2,500 shows, I will not step foot on stage without doing your warm up. You can ask my road manager!”
A singer will believe their own ears long before they'll believe a coach. Even me.
Professional singers, and singers who are on the cusp of becoming real. Recording artists preparing to track. Performers who sound and feel totally fine until the big moment arrives.
If you can already sing and something is in the way, that's the work I do.
