This is not a karaoke bar.
Karaoke is free and the recording is a phone in somebody’s hand. Here there will be 4–8 of you, two cameras, a Pro Tools console, and a coach who has done the vocal production on more than 75 records standing in the room while you sing.
It’s the closest most people will ever get to making a record or filming a video. Now you’ve got the goods to share however you like. That’s the entire point.
And by the way — have I mentioned this all takes place on my yacht in Marina del Rey, originally Dean Martin’s? Rat Pack lineage, if you’re keeping score. Sunsets, a breeze off the water, and a dock full of people who are glad to be there. It chills everybody out before a note is sung.

How the night runs
Two halves, like a ball game.
Doors at 3:00, a little group breathing and a few basic warm-ups to bond together, and we’re off. Three performances each, out the door between 6:00 and 7:00 — plenty of time for your dinner date, or a karaoke bar to go show off in.
First half — two songs each
You sing, your fellow singers and Mark listen. Then we spend a few minutes on what stood out in your performance, and we’re on to the next singer. Everything is recorded from the first note.
Halftime
We take a half hour to nibble, sip, laugh and get some fresh air. It’s also where a room of strangers stops being strangers.
Second half — the concert
You just sing! Close your eyes, breathe in, and enjoy the fact that you are a singer, then simply let go! One song each, straight through, performed rather than practiced. This is the one most people end up posting.
What you take home
Every performance, mixed properly. Plus one edited video, cut from two cameras with the Pro Tools audio underneath — which is the difference between a party clip and something that looks, sounds, and is professional.

Vocal Coach Karaoke will never use or post any of your VCK performances for our promotional purposes, without written consent from any of you singers who want to be featured on our site and socials. Every individual receives only their performances, to do freely what they want with them. You control your own destiny. Your recordings are yours and yours alone. Blast them out all over your socials, or watch them alone repeatedly with only you and your cats.

On the night we perform Karaoke, we focus on the positive highlights, so as to emphasize your unique vocal style and traits. It keeps our evening fun and light. Just sing, enjoy the thrill, and pick up a few pointers along the way.
During the free bonus 30-minute Zoom, we can dig into a place or two that will add to your overall vocal abilities. The performance is for the thrill, the 30-minute bonus Zoom session is for a more focused observation and some work.

Saturday afternoons, climb aboard the Sailor Jack, docked in Marina del Rey, for a moment in time to remember. Every VCK session takes place between 3:00 and 7:00pm. Times will vary depending on the number of singers and the length of your song choices — but have no fear, there’s always a 30-minute halftime, and we’ll be serving snacks and beverages throughout.
Returning singers get a standing discount on future adventures.
